Jack (and the Beanstalk) [medieval] – the wizard boy who slew Bran the Bloodthirsty , a giant who lived in a castle on top of an enchanted beanstalk (Famous Witches and Wizards cards)

Janus Thickey Ward – the long-term resident ward in St. Mungo's Hospital [OOTP23]

Jarvey – a magical creature that resembled an overgrown ferret; it was one of the few beasts could talk, but its speech consisted of rude phrases and insults; Jarveys liked to chase gnomes [FB]

Jelly Slugs – a candy for sale in Honeydukes sweet shop in Hogsmeade [POA10]

Jelly-Legs Jinx – a jinx that made the victim's legs shake uncontrollably [GOF31, 37; HBP9]
