Foe-Glass

Appearance: Looks like an ordinary mirror, but doesn't reflect what immediately faces it.

Function: The Foe-Glass shows any approaching enemies. When the owner's foes are far away, only blurry shapes appear in the glass. The images sharpen as the foes get nearer.

How to Use: Perhaps each one is enchanted to serve its particular owner.

Notes: The fake Professor Moody had one of these Dark Detectors in his Defense Against the Dark Arts office. It must have belonged to Barty Crouch, Jr., as it showed the enemies of Voldemort's servant rather than the enemies of Mad-Eye Moody. A year later, Harry re-encountered this cracked Foe-Glass in the Room of Requirement for his D.A. meetings. It may have been newly bewitched to show someone else's foes at that point.
