Metamorph-Medal
Appearance: They probably look like ordinarily medallions,
on ribbons or chains that can be worn around the neck.
Function: Supposedly, these medals help the wearer metamorphose;
change appearance at any time. Unfortunately, these are scam objects; they
actually make the wearer turn orange, or in worst cases, cause him or her
to break out in tentacle-like warts.
How to Use: Don't.
Notes: Mr. Weasley and his Office for the Detection and
Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects confiscated
a bunch of these Metamorph-Medals early in the Second War with Voldemort.
They were probably sold by someone just looking to make a bit of money (each
medal cost ten Galleons), rather than a Death Eater, as the fake medals could
surely have caused worse damage.
