March 1998
· The trio listened to Potterwatch. Kingsley, Remus, Fred and Lee Jordan appeared on an episode which reported the sad death of Ted Tonks and encouraged the wizarding world to remain united against Voldemort.
· Harry unwittingly used the name Voldemort and broke the Taboo. Hermione was able to administer a Stinging Hex to his face before they were taken by Snatchers, so he was not immediately recognised. They were taken to Malfoy Manor, where Hermione was tortured and Harry and Ron met Griphook, Dean Thomas, Luna Lovegood and Ollivander in the dungeon. After looking in the two-way mirror and unknowingly alerting Aberforth Dumbledore to their situation, he was able to summon Dobby to help them. The House-Elf managed to rescue all of them, but died in his attempt. Peter Pettigrew also died when he hesitated in apprehending Harry.
· Harry dug a grave for Dobby in Bill and Fleur's garden, inscribed with "Here Lies Dobby, a Free Elf".
· Harry spoke to Ollivander and gained important information on wands in general, but also more specifically on the Elder Wand. He also spoke to Griphook, asking him for help in an attempt to break into Gringotts (in order to discover one of Voldemort's Horcrux).
· Voldemort took the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's tomb.
· Griphook agreed to help Harry, in return for Gryffindor's sword. Harry agrees but has every intention on reneging on this deal.
April 1998
· Lupin arrived at Shell Cottage with the news that Tonks had given birth to a baby boy, whom they named Teddy, after her late father. Lupin asked Harry to be godfather and expressed relief that Harry had not permitted him to help hunt for Horcrux.
· Ollivander was moved to recover at Auntie Muriel's.
· Bill warned Harry that it is never a good idea to break a deal with a goblin.
May 1998
· Harry, undeterred by Bill's advice, continued the plan to break into Gringotts with Hermione (disguised as Bellatrix Lestrange) and Ron (also disguised). Despite having to use the Imperius Curse, the group go undetected until the cart ride to the vault. Their disguises are removed by the "Thief's Downfall", a magical waterfall, but they are still able to make their way to the vault. Once inside, they faced the obstacle of objects multiplying themselves and becoming unbearable hot when touched, but they were able to retrieve Hufflepuff's cup, and escape on the blind dragon in the depths of the bank (the sword, however, they lost to Griphook, who disappeared shortly afterwards).
· It was revealed to Harry through his mental connection with Voldemort, that the location of the last unknown Horcrux was in Hogwarts.
· After letting the dragon free, the trio go to Hogsmeade, where Death Eaters were alerted to their presence by charms on Apparition, and Harry casting a Patronus to ward off Dementors.
· They were saved by Aberforth Dumbledore, who escorted them into The Hog's Head, and pretended it was he who the Death Eaters had heard.
· Once inside, he introduced himself and advised them not to follow his brother's instructions. On further questioning, he revealed the story of Ariana's short life, and her awful death - the culprit for which still remained a mystery.
· They were then met by Neville Longbottom, who entered through a secret passageway which ran from the Room of Requirement to Ariana's portrait in the Hog's Head. He revealed the story of his year at school, his leadership of the D.A., and his eventual retreat into hiding.
· The trio went to the Room of Requirement and met with many of their old school friends.
· Percy was publicly reunited with his family.
· Harry, though unwilling to reveal the specifics of his search for the Horcruxes, sought the help of Luna Lovegood in looking for a Ravenclaw's diadem. An incident in the Ravenclaw common room led Snape">Snape to be called, though the teachers, believing him to be a loyal Death Eater, refused to comply in his requests to see Harry Potter, and Snape flew out of the window rather than face a fight.
· In the search for the diadem, Harry managed to talk to the Grey Lady, who he soon discovered was Helena Ravenclaw, the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw. In her youth and jealousy, she had stolen the diadem and died whilst it was still hidden, but had unfortunately already revealed its location to Voldemort, and could provide no further information. However, it did not take him long to deduce its current location: in the room of Hidden Things.
· Harry's allies by this point had all joined together in repelling Voldemort and the Death Eaters from entering Hogwarts, using a number of methods, from jinxes to Mandrakes.
· Harry found Ron and Hermione, who had entered the Chamber of Secrets and destroyed the cup Horcrux using a Basilisk fang.
· After showing concern for House-Elves, Ron finally earnt Hermione's approval and the two shared their first kiss.
· They made it to the room of Hidden Things, where they were followed by Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle who set upon them. Crabbe used Fiendfyre which destroyed the diadem Horcrux, but also killed him. Malfoy and Goyle were saved by the trio.
· Debris from a blown-up wall killed Fred Weasley.
· Voldemort, thinking that Snape was the rightful owner of the Elder Wand, used Nagini to murder him. In his dying moments, Snape left a memory for Harry, which he captured in a flask and took to Dumbledore's office. The content of the memory revealed Snape to be a loyal Order member, who worked for Harry's safety because he had loved his mother. It also revealed that Dumbledore's death had been an arrangement, and that Harry was the final Horcrux, and needed to die if Voldemort was to be vanquished forever.
· Harry set out to face his death.
· On his way he discovered the deaths of Remus, Tonks and Colin Creevey. He told Neville that Nagini needed to be killed, and used the Resurrection Stone to summon his parents, Remus and Sirius to accompany him on his journey.
· A triumphant Voldemort hit Harry with Avada Kedavra, and Harry was transported to a place between life and death, where Albus Dumbledore awaited him. He told Harry that he had the chance to live or die: Harry chose to live.
· Once alive again, he pretended to be dead, a lie perpetuated by Narcissa Malfoy, who no longer cared for her loyalties, only for Draco. Voldemort ordered Hagrid to carry Harry's body to a crowd of observers, and told them that he had been killed fleeing.
· After Neville shouted in protest, Voldemort singled him out and offered him a place in the Death Eaters' ranks. When he refused this, Voldemort put the Sorting Hat on his head and set it on fire. Neville summoned Gryffindor's sword out of the hat and used it to behead Nagini, rendering Voldemort mortal.
· Harry escaped under the Invisibility Cloak and moved with the battle as it progressed into the great hall.
· After Bellatrix Lestrange nearly killed Ginny Weasley, Molly Weasley stepped in and, furious, killed Lestrange. At this point Harry appeared, and he and Voldemort immediately faced each other.
· Harry taunted Voldemort, calling him "Tom", and trying to impress on him the importance of love and remorse. However, it was a magical "flaw" which defeated him in the end. It was not Snape, but Harry, who had become the true master of the Elder Wand, and although Voldemort held it in his hands, it would not cast a curse upon its master - particularly a Killing Curse. So when Voldemort cast the spell, and it met Harry's Expelliarmus, it simply rebounded, and hit the original caster. Voldemort fell, undignified, lifeless.
1st September, 2017
· Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione and Draco were all present on Platform 9 ¾, wishing their children goodbye as they depart for Hogwarts.
